Gearbox repair is fundamentally different from motor repair: precise mechanical machining, the condition of the gear teeth and bearing quality determine how long the overhauled unit will last. That is why the Aselec workshop carries out full overhauls of industrial gear units and railway traction gearboxes — including gearboxes for Stadler vehicles. Every step, from teardown to test-bench measurement, is carried out in-house by our own engineers.
The first step after teardown is precise measurement of the gear teeth and shafts. Worn or damaged gears are manufactured in our own workshop or with a partner using precision machining. Bearings are always replaced with new, branded components, and seals, radial rings and oiled surfaces are all overhauled. The assembled gearbox is tested under load on our test bench — for noise level, temperature rise and vibration.
Alongside gearbox repair, we also rewind and overhaul the associated electric motor in the same workshop. This means the customer does not need to engage two separate service providers, and receives the motor–gearbox assembly back fully coordinated and documented.
